Two years ago I decided to give up all refined sweets for a full year and consumed only fruit when I wanted sugar. I had forgotten how wonderful it felt to be nourished after eating something sweet AND healthy. Junk food fed me a sugar "high" followed by the inevitable lows which set up more cravings for a sweet fix that added on the pounds. Satisfying myself in the moment with pie or ice cream lead to greater overall dissatisfaction

I learned that it's much better to fix the problem instead of going in cycles of living from one sugar fix to the next.
If you eat too many sweets try eating more unprocessed, whole fruit. Women ate far less refined sugar in the 1950s than we do today. Why not make it splitsville for the banana split and instead treat yourself to a colorful fresh fruit salad for dessert? It's far better for your health and waistline. Knowing that you're being good to yourself should make eating fruit even more delicious!
